Is it just me or do Continental Tires have a much flatter sidewall than other brands?

When I went to put new tires on my BMW, Goodyear and Michelin always stood out a bit more on the sides of the Continental tires, which made the car less aesthetically pleasing. I like the shape of the sidewall is flatter both Continental tires that are sold, for example, late model BMW. Can anyone tell me if having a straight and flat side wall means that the tire is a better quality? What tires are considered the best brand to buy?
