Beleve it or not these are very capable vehicles but yes those stock rims and tires are useless off road but they are there because 95% of these vehicles wont see anything but paved road if you want to go off roading you would need some smaller rims and off-road tires. once everything is said and done you spend a lot of money to get the capability that ANY JEEP can match or surpass right off the show room floor. I think these are great vehicles just not really worth it

I have an 2008 full size Range Rover and just bought the Pirelli ATR 255/55-19s. They arent super aggresive but they do pretty well. And I do use mine off the pavement since I travel down rough roads to do some fly fishing.

They should stop referring to what they are doing as going up wipe out hill. They are going up the bypass to wipe out hill. Still, I was at the first few of these Land Rover in Moab events (as a guide – I drive a Jeep ) and it is usually fun to watch these guys broaden their horizons. These vehicles do not do what Jeeps do stock for stock, but they are faster and more comfortable machines on the road, which is where they know most will stay. Supply and demand.

i wouldnt say any jeep look at the compass that things terrible and the new jeeps arent as great either i mean look at the srt8 strickly for on the road like the compass. the new wranglers are great but everything else not so much

OK granted the compass is terrible and most real jeep fans wouldnt even consider that a REAL jeep and yes the SRT8 is strictly for street and strip not off road But any Version of the Wrangler, Liberty, Grand Cherokee (excluding the SRT8 ), and the commander are very formatible off road vehicles

i would to see a jeep on stock tyres and rims go places i have seen some stock range rovers.

though most 44×4′s will struggle if the driver is a retard.

erm, ball ox. im pretty sure you can get off road tyres to fit a land rover in the states. goodyear MT/R’s shouldn’t be the only tyre you can find from a UK dealer, if you cant find what you want try E-bay.

plenty of people in the uk import tyres from america.

basically, i reckon you are just trying to justify why you downgraded to a jeep.
